Sword Fish with Bread Crumbs and Orange Salad Sicilian Style

Tonight I'm cooking for myself only, and believe it or not, having dinner at my house by myself is one of my favorite things in the world. Mostly because I don't have to kiss anybody and I can eat raw garlic. :-)

This is the only recipe I've found so far that doesn't turn the sword fish into a sole. Keeps it juicy and tender.

INGREDIENTS FOR ONE HUNGRY PERSON

FOR THE STEAK
A Sword fish steak
(My sword fish steak is wild caught and SUPER fresh. It doesn't smell fishy and it looks meaty and thick)
Salt
Pepper
Bread Crumbs
Extra virgin olive oil

FOR THE INSALATA DI ARANCE ALLA SICILIANA (Sicilian orange salad)
2 oranges (the juicier the better. To learn how to peal an orange clic here)
Pine nuts
Garlic (half a clove, minced)
Salt
Extra virgin olive oil

1. Peal the orange and slice it into wheels. Put a dash of salt on each slice, some extra virgin olive oil, the minced garlic and put it in the fridge.

2. Salt and pepper the steak to taste. Put some bread crumbs on a plate and pan the steak on both sides and edges. I wanted a thicker layer of bread crumbs so I added some olive oil on each side so that more bread crumbs would stick.

3. In a non sticky pan heat up a little bit of oil, turn the fire on medium and put your steak on the pan. It will have to cook for about 5 minutes per side, don't rush it or it won't cook in the middle. When it's a nice golden brown turn it over and cook the other side.

4. Get the oranges from the fridge and if you want you may remove the raw garlic. I eat it. It's good for me, makes my immune system stronger. Sprinkle the pine nuts over the salad.

5. Place the fish over the salad and serve.

Enjoy!
